My work encompasses drawing, painting, ceramics and textiles; exploring the magic and mystery of the cosmos, interconnectedness and balance. I’m inspired by the natural world and our connection to both it and one another.
I have over 30 years worth of sketchbooks and a Geography degree from the University of Bristol, with an early exposure to arts with both my mother and grandmother working in textiles.
Following time living in Canada and New Zealand, I moved to London and began my career promoting sustainable organisations. I studied Textile Design part time at City Lit, London, whilst directing environmental campaigns advocating for renewable energy and fossil fuel divestment in London, Europe, the USA and East Africa.
Interested in the power of art and culture to bring about positive change, I focused in on creativity and established the environmental art collective ‘Human Nature’ in 2014, with whom I’ve collaborated, curated and exhibited since. Meanwhile, I’ve designed apparel and textiles for a number of green brands, with my upcycled blanket collection stocked by Anthropologie Europe in 2021.
I currently live and work on the edge of the Peak District National Park, in Sheffield, UK with my husband David and son, Remi. My recent work brings together my long held values and celebrates slow, handmade production, making wall hangings using repurposed, end of line materials and felt made in my local county of Yorkshire.
